Frere Remi
Is an independent singer-songwriter and producer based in Amsterdam, creating music that blends emotional storytelling with cinematic pop production and influences from Middle Eastern music.
Originally from the Middle East, son of a well known and respected artist mother from Syria and an Egyptian Qanun player, Frere Remi gets inspired to write music shaped by cultural contrasts, personal resilience, and a deep curiosity about the human experience. His songs move between English and Arabic, combining Western songwriting structures with the expressive phrasing and melodic sensibility rooted in his heritage.
Working largely from his own studio, Frere Remi develops his music independently — writing, producing, and shaping each track with a strong focus on emotional authenticity. His work often explores themes of freedom, identity, dignity, and the search for meaning, turning personal reflections into songs that resonate beyond borders.
Tracks such as "The Bird Story", "Sharid", and "On The Road" medley highlight his ability to combine introspective lyrics with atmospheric soundscapes and powerful vocal expression. Each release reflects an artist driven not by trends, but by a desire to create music that speaks honestly about life, struggle, and hope.
For Frere Remi, music is more than entertainment. It is a way to question the world, challenge injustice, and remind people of the shared humanity that connects us all.
